AgriBank Extends Remote Work Requirement, Plans for Safe Return to Office

Workers to Begin Returning to Office in July Under New Health and Safety Protocols

ST. PAUL, Minn., May 22, 2020 – AgriBank today announced that its employees and contractors, most of whom have been working remotely since mid-March due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, will begin gradually returning to their downtown St. Paul offices in July.

"AgriBank is committed to providing a healthy and safe workplace," said AgriBank CEO Jeff Swanhorst. "We will follow a detailed, flexible preparedness plan that will enable us to protect our workers while continuing to provide excellent, uninterrupted service to our customer/owners."

Under the plan, workers will begin returning to the office on July 6 under a flexible plan that facilitates social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus. Workers were previously expected to return to the office on June 1. Some workers may continue to work remotely because of underlying medical conditions, childcare needs or other concerns.

The plan follows guidelines related to COVID-19 from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Minnesota Department of Health. In addition to social distancing, which includes new protocols for workspaces and common areas, the plan addresses enhanced office hygiene and housekeeping; prompt identification of sick workers; and communications, training and supervision to ensure effective plan implementation. The plan may evolve as circumstances change.
